The Mercedes driver is often on the receiving end of unwarranted criticism and so it is hardly surprising to see him in this list. He is at the fore of the sport, one of the best there has ever been, and his financial situation reflects that.

Shifting gears massively to Australian rugby league halfback Daly Cherry-Evans. One fan says that the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles star is “getting paid 1.5 million a year.”

Brock Osweiler, 13th
