Darren Till has a name and a date for his next fight, according to reports.

The Liverpool MMA fighter will reportedly face South Africa's own Dricus du Plessis in an exciting middleweight clash on the main card of UFC 282.

ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto said the fight has been 'verbally agreed' and it will go down in Las Vegas on December 10.

Till, 29, hasn't fought since UFC Fight Night 191 last year in Paradise, Nevada.

He lost to Derek Brunson and has lost three of his last four fights with Jorge Masvidal and Robert Whittaker both beating him.

But he had been itching to return to the cage before the end of the year as he eyes a 'monster' comeback in 2023.

However Du Plessis is certainly no pushover having run through all comers in his last three octagon outings including wins over Trevin Giles, Markus Perez and Brad Tavares.

Earlier this summer, Till said he wanted to make sure he has taken 'care' of his health first after having to deal with multiple injury setbacks over the years.

Speaking exclusively to GiveMeSport, he said: “I’m just taking care of my health and getting back to 100 per cent full fitness because the past two years of my career I’ve drove my body into the ground. 

“I’ve had countless injuries, I’ve snapped my knee, I’ve broken my collarbone and stuff. 

“I’ve persevered up until a certain point where I’ve had to step back and just be like I can’t do this no more. 

“So it’s not really the mental side it’s more of the physical side for me. 

“It’s like that saying ‘you’re too tough for your own good’.

“I’ve stepped back and sort of worked on other things rather than just going to the gym and breaking my body everyday.

“That’s what it’s ultimately been for me and obviously I’m training in Sweden so if there’s days I don’t feel right I don’t really go to the gym.

“If I wake up and I feel like my body is a little bit overworked I have that morning off whereas in the past I wouldn’t do that and it wasn’t smart. 

“But when you’re young you don’t know these things obviously.”
