Following Anthony Joshua’s defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on August 20, much was made about what the next step for AJ would be following his second consecutive defeat to the Ukrainian.Usyk defeated Joshua via split decision in Saudi Arabia at the back end of last month, and whilst the Brit had much improved since his first fight against the same opponent, the Ukrainian was still too much for AJ on the night.Another loss and a shot at the titles gone, a lot of people thought it could spell the end for Joshua, but it seems like there is a massive light at the end of the tunnel.A potential rematch with Dillian Whyte was discussed in the aftermath of the Usyk rematch, with The Body Snatcher claiming Joshua “couldn’t deal” with losing to the Ukrainian.Promoter Eddie Hearn even admitted that Whyte could be a potential opponent, with the latter eager to get back in the ring following a knockout defeat of his own at the hands of Tyson Fury earlier this year.In the last week or so, however, Fury has made his feelings known and has confirmed himself that he is keen to fight Joshua, offering him the chance to fight for his belt before the end of the year.Whilst Usyk has ruled himself out of any fight with Fury, suggesting he will not return to the ring until 2023, this provides the perfect opportunity for a battle of Britain between the two giants.Read more: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Everything We Know So FarTyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Two possible dates & stadiums for superfightTyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Two possible dates & stadiums for superfightDespite Fury claiming in April that he was retiring from the sport, he posted a video on social media last week calling out Joshua. After a bit of back and forth between the pair, Fury offered Joshua a 60/40 split for the fight, with The Gypsy King preferring it to be on British soil.Joshua accepted the purse split and then demanded the fight take place on December 17, a date Fury's promoter Frank Warren already has a stadium booked for. That venue in question is Cardiff's Principality Stadium. However, just today, Fury has declared that he is not happy with Joshua’s request, as per an Instagram comment, replying with “Nov 26th at Wembley or Dec 3rd in Cardiff. That’s the dates, take or leave.”

Whilst both fighters seem eager to get a fight arranged, there still is a disagreement logistically, and talks are still very much at the primary stage.

Only time will tell if the two fighters will come to an agreement to arrange a fight that the British public will be very eager to see take place.
