Liverpool suffered one of their most concerning defeats under Jurgen Klopp away at Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night. When the Reds have lost games in the past under their world-class coach, they’ve still displayed plenty of fight and heart. But Klopp’s men looked completely out of sorts at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, where the home side raced into a 3-0 lead before half-time thanks to goals from Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Giovanni Simeone. If anything, the 3-0 scoreline flattered Liverpool, who could have been at least five goals down at the interval. Victor Osimhen also missed a penalty for the hosts during the opening 45 minutes. And it took just two minutes into the second half for Napoli to score again through Zielinski.Luis Diaz pulled a goal back for the Merseyside outfit shortly afterwards but it was far too little, too late.Luis Diaz pulled goal back for Liverpool v NapoliNAPLES, ITALY - SEPTEMBER 07: Luis Diaz of Liverpool battles for possession with Giovanni Di Lorenzo of SSC Napoli during the UEFA Champions League group A match between SSC Napoli and Liverpool FC at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on September 07, 2022 in Naples, Italy. What did Jurgen Klopp say after Napoli 4-1 Liverpool?

Klopp said his team needs to be better in “pretty much everything” after the performance in Italy.

"We need to reinvent ourselves," Klopp told BT Sport, per Sky Sports. "There are a lot of things lacking, not in all games but the fun thing is we have to do it in the middle of the Premier League season and a Champions League campaign. We need a set-up to be better in pretty much everything.

"We have to play in three days against Wolves. If Wolves saw that game tonight they would not stop laughing and would say it is the perfect moment."
