AEW: World Championship eliminator tournament confirmed

Due to the recent news surrounding the events that took place after ALL OUT, Tony Khan has revealed that the AEW World Championship is now vacant and that there will be an eliminator tournament to determine a brand new AEW World Champion.

Khan opened the show to discuss the titles but didn’t mention the former champions in CM Punk, who held the AEW World Title and The ELITE, who was crowned the inaugural AEW Trios Champions at ALL OUT on Sunday.

In his announcement, Khan revealed that the Trios Championship match between Best Friends and Death Triangle would take place on Dynamite for the Trios Championships.

Death Triangle would win and become the new AEW Trios Champions.

On the other hand, the new AEW World Champion will be crowned in two weeks at the AEW Grand Slam edition of Dynamite.

The tournament will consist of six participants, two of these already having a spot in the semi-finals in former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and “The Wizard” Chris Jericho.

Their opponents will be determined by the winners of Bryan Danielson vs Hangman Page and Darby Allin vs Sammy Guevara.

Guevara vs Allin will take place this Friday on Rampage, but Page vs Danielson took place last night on AEW Dynamite, with Danielson walking out the victor.

Danielson picked up the victory after a failed Buckshot Lariat attempt from Page was reversed, and Danielson rolled him up.

The American Dragon is scheduled to collide in an ALL OUT rematch with Chris Jericho, and the winner of Allin and Guevara will collide with Jon Moxley next week on Rampage.

You can watch AEW internationally on FITE TV.
