AEW has been at the centre of wrestling headlines over the past month. However, more news has come out surrounding the company regarding the potential release of one of its top stars.

Reports have speculated over the past few weeks that Malakai Black could be making his way out of the company due to personal reasons.

Black has been an integral part of the roster since he arrived in AEW a year ago. His dark aura and mystique made his character development and narrative one of the most intriguing in the company with the formation of The House Of Black.

Even though they haven't won gold in the company as of yet, Black has shed new light onto the careers of Buddy Matthews, Brody King and most recent Julia Hart, who has been dominant in the in-ring competition since joining the group.

Fightful Select reported that there is a belief amongst AEW talent that Malakai was granted his release request, but if confirmed it will come with a few conditions.

Fans and journalists believe that the events that took place after The House Of Black's trios match against Darby Allin, Sting and Miro could indicate that he is done for the time being as, after their loss, Malakai bowed to the AEW fans before heading to the back.

Black's release, if confirmed, is rumoured to be a "conditional release" meaning that he may not be able to head straight to WWE or another wrestling promotion, unlike a standard release where it is a 90-day non-compete clause.
