The Attitude Era is one of the most beloved periods in the WWE’s history. Still under the WWF banner, the company ushered in some of its most memorable stars. It saw the rise of DX, the three faces of Foley and the iconic Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Mr McMahon in an era-defining feud which went on for years. The WWF had their backs against the wall to get ratings in a heated war with WWF. They had to produce something special, especially with WCW collecting some of the WWF’s established names such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. WCW even managed to come out on top in the ratings battle for 84 consecutive weeks. The pressure on Vince McMahon’s company forced them to produce some of the best weekly wrestling stories there’s ever been. Fans who lived through this time are extremely nostalgic about it, particularly if it happened during their childhood and teen years. They produced memorable moments that are still replayed today and referenced on WWE TV.Another thing from the 90s that many people are nostalgic about is The Simpsons. It’s a timeless TV show that can still make people laugh today. The show often included mainstream crossovers. Their first interaction with the WWF was featuring Bret Hart in one of their episodes. The Hitman’s character appeared on screen to buy Mr Burns' mansion; he also threw in some insults at the Simpsons villain. Now, a Twitter page focused on this time period (@90sWWE) has shared a post linking the two popular 90s shows again. They drew comparisons between characters and moments in the Simpsons with classic WWF Attitude Era wrestlers.

WWE Attitude Era Superstars as Simpsons characters

It starts with Stone Cold, who is appropriately linked with Homer as he pours six beers into his mouth. Beer in WWE is synonymous with The Rattlesnake and this was the easiest comparison to make.

Other comparisons include Mick Foley, who was renowned for taking insane punishment through wild spots, as Homer who’d been badly injured with cuts and bruises.

A muscular version of Marge was compared to Chyna, as well as Bart with his trousers down being hilariously linked to the ‘Ass Man’ Billy Gunn.

The thread even made fun of infamous storylines like using a picture of Homer hitting someone with his car to acknowledge when Rikishi ran down Steve Austin. Of course, it had to feature Triple H as Homer with a sledgehammer.

The thread also includes Simpsons links to wrestlers such as Vince and Shane McMahon, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Big Boss Man, The APA and more.

It truly makes for a hilarious summary of the most wild era in WWE history.
