Erling Haaland has enjoyed a remarkable start to life at Manchester City.
Since completing his £51 million move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, the 22-year-old has netted 12 goals in just eight appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, including two hat-tricks.
Ten of those goals have been scored in the Premier League. Many anticipate that he’ll break the record for most goals in a Premier League campaign during his debut season in England.
“Erling Haaland is… it just looks a bit unfair,” Manchester United legend Gary Neville said on his podcast recently, per The Mirror. “I remember when I watched James Bond films when I was younger and there was the character Jaws, who was about 7ft 2in.
“He used to just pick people up and chuck them on the floor, and it’s a little bit like that when you watch Haaland against strong centre-backs. You think, ‘wow, he’s just unplayable – how do you even cope with him in the box?’.”
Meanwhile, it was reported last month that rival Premier League managers have been calling each other to discuss how to stop City’s No. 9.
Footage of Haaland and Man Utd fan goes viral
Despite his global stardom, Haaland still feels comfortable enough to walk the streets of Manchester on his own, which is fantastic to see.
However, after spotting the world-class centre-forward casually strolling about, one United fan couldn’t resist telling him that he’d joined the wrong Manchester club.
“Haaland, you came to the wrong side of Manchester,” the fan (Dan Fitton on TikTok) said.
Haaland responded: “Nah, they love me here.”
The fan then said: “United!”
Haaland replied: “Yeah, they love me here.”
Finally, the fan said: “Come to us next season, United. Yeah, you know it – go on!
“See you later, Haaland.”

It’s not everyday that you spot one of the world’s best footballers casually walking around.
But Haaland appears to have impressed everyone at City by just how grounded he is.
“Erling is a great guy, a brilliant guy,” Jack Grealish said in July, per The Mirror. “The first day that I met him we took a car together and after that ride I thought ‘what a guy.’
“He’s so down to earth and quite up front with the way he is. You get used to that.”
