AEW Rampage Results: Sammy Guevara advances in World Title tournament

AEW Rampage saw the second quarter-final match of the AEW World Championship eliminator tournament between Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin. Also, Claudio Castagnoli defended his ROH World Championship against one-half of the AAA, ROH and IWGP Tag Team Champions Dax Harwood of FTR.

Sammy Guevara def Darby Allin- AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament Quarter-Finals

The match began with Sammy Guevara hitting a series of suplexes on Darby Allin before Allin tumbled them both to the outside before hitting a suplex of his own on the floor.

Guevara would regain momentum by reversing a top suicida from Allin with a vicious cutter.

Both men continued to throw everything at one another, but the difference maker would be the distraction for Anna JAS, allowing Guevara to drop Allin with a powerbomb on the skateboard before hitting the GTH to advance to next week’s semi-finals, where he will face Jon Moxley.

Samoa Joe promo-

The ROH TV Champion addressed the AEW fans following his return at last Sunday’s ALL OUT PPV.

He is interrupted by Smart Mark Sterling, Ton Nese and Josh Woods. Woods makes his claim for an ROH TV Championship shot, and Samoa Joe accepts.

Serena Deeb def Madison Rayne-

Rayne got some offence at the beginning of the bout, but Deeb would quickly shift the momentum and calculate a vicious attack leading to a dominating victory.

Deeb would end the match in familiar fashion with the Serenity Lock.

Claudio Castagnoli ( c ) def Dax Harwood- ROH World Championship

The match began with both men in a quick exchange, trying to catch the other off guard and pick up the victory via a roll-up.

Both men would be momentarily down after a rough landing from a suplex to the outside by Dax, which saw him land dodgy on his knee and Claudio crashing hard.

As the match progressed, Dax would have a rough landing that saw his knee crash into the ring post.

Dax almost picked up the victory via the slingshot liger bomb, but it would be the champion who retained his title after locking in the sharpshooter, causing Dax to submit.
