British UFC star Darren Till has warned Dricus du Plessis that he is going to "rip this guy's head off."

The Liverpool MMA fighter recently turned up for UFC 279 in Las Vegas to show his support of his Allstar Training Centre teammate Khamzat Chimaev.

Till has not fought since he was defeated by Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 191 in September 2021.

He famously came up short when he challenged Tyron Woodley for the UFC welterweight title three years prior.

When is Darren Till's next fight?

The Scouser has been out of action for well over a year now after recently undergoing surgery on a knee injury he suffered prior to the defeat by Brunson last year.

And it's an opportunity he intends to seize with open arms as he looks to get his career back on track after a tough few years in and out of the cage.

What has Darren Till said about Dricus du Plessis?

“I think he’s tough," Till told TheMacLife.

"I swear I’m just going to come to rip this guy’s head off. I'm going to come to rip this guy's head off.

"I just want to beat him bad, I really do, but we’ll see.”

The former UFC title challenger has been suffering on the sidelines for more than 12 months from a broken collarbone to a torn ACL to a knee injury which forced him to withdraw from his fight against Jack Hermansson in July.

But he will now look to get back in the win column when he goes up against Du Plessis in a few months' time.

He added: “It's good, as good as it can be.

"I’ve just got to be smart with my movement. I want to spar a lot. I want to get a lot of good rounds.

"I’ve been getting good sparring lately with good guys - it builds me up when I have good sparring.

“Look at what Whittaker just done to Vettori and my fight with Whittaker. I know I can be one of the best. So I've just got to be smart with my movements and get the good rounds in and treat my body right.”

Where is Darren Till currently ranked?

Till, 29, is currently ranked inside the middleweight division's top ten ahead of his return to the octagon.

However, Till faces a great deal of competition to keep that position from the rest of his rivals in the division.

Chris Curtis, Andre Muniz and Nassourdine Imavov are all ranked below him in the pecking order, along with his former opponent Kelvin Gastelum.
