Roman Reigns rejected the chance to turn babyface when WWE pitched the idea to him, a new report has claimed.

Reigns has been a heel since returning to WWE TV in August 2020, and seemingly doesn't want that to change.

Roman has been getting fantastic character reactions over the last few months, but in spite of that, seemingly has no desire to turn into an out-and-out good guy.

Which of WWE's recent pitches did Roman Reigns reject?

A new report from Ringside News has claimed that WWE Creative recently brought up the idea of turning Roman Reigns into a babyface.

Reigns, as well as Paul Heyman for that matter, reportedly both outright rejected the pitch, saying they have no desire to stop being heels right now.

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman “refuse” to let the Tribal Chief character fall into any babyface category. We were told that he will only be classified as a villain, and that is their call.

Roman Reigns' failed babyface run

When you look at Roman's time with WWE, it's not hard to see why he'd be so hesitant to turn back into a babyface anytime soon.

Yes, Roman is getting some fantastic reactions as a heel right now, but he's been burned before when it comes to being treated as a babyface by WWE fans.

Vince McMahon tried for years to get Roman over WWE's top star, but fans outright rejected the 37-year-old being presented as a babyface.

It wasn't until Roman turned heel in the summer of 2020 that fans really started to appreciate his work, so it's quite easy to see why he'd be so hesitant to turn face again right now.

What are WWE's plans for Roman Reigns right now?

Interestingly enough, a new report has uncovered the plans that WWE has for Reigns for the remainder of 2022, even heading into 2023.

The report claims that Roman will be Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for the remainder of this year, with there being no plans to take the titles off him anytime soon.

In fact, the report even suggests that Roman will still be champion come WrestleMania 39 in April 2023, where he is expected to defend his belts against his real-life cousin, The Rock.
