Canelo Alvarez will be heading to the boxing ring this weekend for a massive trilogy fight against Gennady Golovkin, but how much will the Mexican great earn for this pugilist endeavour?

This is easily one of the most anticipated bouts of 2022, and as such both men are set to earn a huge amount of money to clash once again.

Whilst the exact amount that Canelo will be earning for this specific fight is not exactly known, we can make a pretty good estimate based on the reported deals!

Here is everything you need to know about the purse and earnings that Canelo Alvarez will make against GGG.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger revealed back in February that Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom promotion would’ve proposed around $160 Million for a three-fight deal alongside DAZN.

He stated: “Canelo Alvarez and manager/trainer Eddy Reynoso are also planning a third fight with Matchroom that will take place in December. The three-fight plan with DAZN is worth up to $160 million.”

Canelo has already fought once in 2022 against Dmitry Bivol. This second fight against GGG in September may not be his last, as Coppinger mentions there may well be a third contest in December 2022.

Estimating the actual earnings that Alvarez will make then is quite difficult, as it all depends on whether the third fight will take place.

What we can estimate is that Canelo will be making between $40 - $50 million from his deal with Matchroom and DAZN for the trilogy fight against GGG!
