Russell Wilson was greeted with a cascade of boos upon his return to the Seattle Seahawks as a member of the Denver Broncos.

Monday night saw the Denver Broncos travel to Lumen Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks, with both teams looking to make vast improvements on what they were able to do last season, as both teams finished bottom of their respective divisions with a 7-10 record.

However, their records from last season, their ambitions for what they want to do this season and everything else when it came to the teams as a whole is the last thing on people’s minds as the two sides got ready to square off in Week 1 of the season.

All eyes were instead on the quarterback for the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson as he returned to the Pacific Northwest with his new team following the trade that took place this summer.

Russell Wilson - A one-man show

It’s fair to say that Wilson whilst with the Seahawks had to do a lot of fire-fighting at times, with a career pass completion percentage of 65%, throwing for 37,059 yards and 292 touchdowns to just 87 interceptions and a passer rating of 101.8 in the regular season, all whilst having to deal with arguably one of the worst offensive lines in the league at times, his numbers are

But mixed in with that there was some success, the ‘Legion of Boom’ years brought the Seahawks to prominence in the league and took them to two Super Bowls, winning the first of them as they beat Peyton Manning’s Broncos 43-8.

So it was no surprise that the Seahawks weren’t going to let him go cheaply as they go through their rebuild, with two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, tight end Noah Fant, quarterback Drew Lock and defensive end Shelby Harris all being sent the other way.

But it seems as though despite all he did for the franchise, there are some Seahawks fans who aren’t too happy seeing him back.

Seahawks don’t stay silent

In footage captured by Seahawks reporter Gregg Bell, Wilson can be seen entering the field for pre-game warmups to a cascade of boos from the Seahawks fans that used to cheer for him.

The whole thing becomes stranger when you consider that Wilson was traded, he didn’t exactly have the biggest say in it, so it wasn’t his fault he’s coming out of the opposition tunnel tonight.
