The boxing exhibition match has a number of fights scheduled for the undercard, and they are as follows:

Super RIZIN

  • Floyd Mayweather vs. Mikuru Asakura – Boxing Exhibition Bout

RIZIN 38

  • Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Yuto Hokamura
  • Hiromasa Ogikubo vs. Soo Chul Kim
  • Kyohei Hagiwara vs. Chihiro Suzuki
  • Juri Ohara vs. Luiz Gustavo
  • Shoma Shibisai vs. Cally Gibrainn de Oliveira

This isn’t the first time that Mayweather has joined forces with RIZIN to promote an exhibition boxing match on one of their cards.

Mayweather faced Tenshin Nasukawa back on December 31st 2018, with the 50-0 legend easily defeating the younger MMA practitioner in the pugilistic endeavour.

‘Money’ will be hoping to entertain once again when he steps back inside the squared circle on Sunday, September 25th in BST time.

Speaking of entertaining, Canelo Alvarez recently slated Mayweather for his performance in their previous bout, saying that it was ‘boring.’

Speaking to actor Eugenio Derbez (via EssentiallySports) the Mexican fighter said: “I didn’t take it as a loss. Afterwards, I took it as an apprenticeship. I still didn’t have the experience to fight in those scenarios. It was a really boring fight against the best fighter in the world.

“It hurt a lot that night. But the next day, I told myself that this would not take anything away from my goal of being the best. In boxing, I’m the second Mexican in history who managed to become the best pound for pound.”

It’s unlikely we’ll ever see the two men run that back, but it would certainly be an intriguing addition to the exhibition bouts that ‘Money’ Mayweather has been competing in.
