Sean O’Malley has questioned Conor McGregor’s motivation to return to the UFC given his incredible wealth.
The return of Conor McGregor is, unsurprisingly, something we’ve all long since been speculating about. It’s not like the UFC hasn’t been putting on great events in his absence but at the same time, this is the biggest star in the history of mixed martial arts we’re talking about. The man isn’t just going to go quietly into the night and he certainly isn’t going to settle for ending his career with consecutive losses to Dustin Poirier.
The Irishman seems hellbent on teasing a comeback through social media but when you take one look at some of his other big commitments, including starring in a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal, the possibility of an imminent return seems less and less likely.
One man who is attempting to reach a similar level of superstardom to Conor is none other than Sean O’Malley, the bantamweight sensation who continues to make a strong impression with casual and hardcore fans alike.
When discussing the future of McGregor during a recent episode of his show, O’Malley was pretty honest in his assessment of the 34-year-old.

“The amount of money Conor has, he’s good for probably the rest of his life. I can’t imagine him waking up in a training camp with five weeks to grind hard, kill it.
“When you have money like he does, you don’t give a f***. Even when you have a little bit of money, travelling is fun. For me, there’s no way I could be travelling in camp.
“He’s always on the yacht, going somewhere, doing something. I can’t imagine him grinding for just 12 weeks, but I don’t know, if anyone is going to do it, Conor will come back and win. He did look sharp against Poirier, but, having that much money.”

If Sean O’Malley is serious about being the next big thing in the UFC, he’ll have to go through some absolute killers in the 135-pound division.
In his next outing, at UFC 280 next month, he has undeniably the biggest test he’s ever had to face standing in front of him in the form of Petr Yan.
‘No Mercy’ is a former UFC bantamweight champion, he has incredible boxing skills and he’s as durable as they come.
Don’t blink, because this one could be a barnburner.
