Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has called for the Premier League to hold a north vs south all-star match, similar to what the MLB and NBA do in America.

“MLB did their all star game this year. They made $200m from a Monday and a Tuesday, you could do a North vs South all-star game from the Premier League to fund the pyramid very easily,” he said, per the Evening Standard's Nizaar Kinsella.

Boehly isn't the first person to make such a suggestion.

Romelu Lukaku did the same back in 2018.

He wrote on Twitter: “Here’s an idea for you guys… the Nba has all-star game! Don’t you guys think we should organise one in the Premier League… The north vs the south! And the fans vote… what do you guys think?”

But how would the teams look if the match was to take place today?

We've had a go at imagining the teams. View the two sides below...

The south XI looks very strong on paper. Despite their struggles to start the 2022/23 season. five Chelsea players feature, including Sterling and James.

Their strike partnership of Kane and Jesus looks very good indeed.

But the north XI looks as if it would be too strong.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo

Six Man City players make the side, including De Bruyne and Haaland. Four Liverpool players, including Salah, and Man United's Casemiro make up the team.

They'd also be able to call upon the legendary Ronaldo from the bench.

If we had to pick a winner for the match, we reckon the north side would emerge victorious.

Of course, we don't actually know if that would be the case unless Boehly and Lukaku's idea comes to fruition.
