Pablo 'Gavi' Gavira has officially signed a new long-term deal at Barcelona.

The club made the news public on Wednesday morning following the 2-0 defeat away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Gavi has extended his stay at Barcelona until 2026 and an enormous €1 billion release clause has been inserted into the contract.

The 18-year-old sensation is already regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football and has established himself as a regular in the Spain national team.

Back in June, the country's manager Luis Enrique heaped praise on Gavi after his dazzling displays in the UEFA Nations League.

“He’s like an erupting volcano," the former Barcelona boss said. “It’s very difficult not to fall in love with Gavi. Any fan wants to see him play.”

Yeah, the footballing world is Gavi's oyster right now and it's scary to think how good he may be in his absolute prime.

Using Transfermarkt, we've worked out the most valuable teenage XI on the planet.

What surprised us is the fact that Gavi is currently only the fifth-most valuable teenage footballer, although it further highlights that the future of the game is in very, very safe hands.

Let's take a look at the team in full...

The most valuable teenage XI in the world

What. A. Team.

The fact Barcelona have three of the most valuable teenage footballers on the planet right now is a clear indication that their future is set to be an incredibly bright one.

From a Premier League perspective, only one player currently operating in the division makes the cut in Livramento and the second-most valuable teenager from the English top-flight is Liverpool's Harvey Elliott (£19.80 million).

The Premier League has all the money, but in terms of teenage talent, it's way behind both La Liga and the Bundesliga.
