Spurs allowed the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso to leave the club on loan during the summer transfer window, but a high-profile permanent departure could be on the cards in the not-too-distant future.
What’s the latest news involving Kane?
According to Florian Plettenburg, Bayern are already in talks with Kane’s representatives over a potential transfer next summer.
The Sky Sports Germany reporter suggests the 73-cap England international is their top striker target and Kane ‘can really, really imagine joining Bayern’.
Having come through the ranks at Hotspur Way, Kane has entered the final two years of his £200,000-per-week deal with the north Londoners.
Although Spurs are looking to tie him down to a new contract, German media outlet Bild, via The Sun, have reported that Bayern are urging the striker to hold off putting pen-to-paper just yet.
Oliver Kahn, who is the European heavyweights’ chief executive, has previously described a move for Kane as ‘a dream of the future’.
What has Pete O’Rourke said about Kane?
O’Rourke is certain that Bayern are monitoring Kane’s situation and ready to pounce if it becomes clear that the 29-year-old is having doubts over committing his long-term future to Tottenham.
However, the journalist believes the Bundesliga giants are not the only club coveting the Spurs academy product.
O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Kane’s future at Tottenham.
“If a new deal can’t be agreed there, I’m sure they will be among a host of clubs who would love to sign Harry Kane.”
Is Kane likely to sign a new contract?
Head coach Antonio Conte has claimed that Kane is happy at Tottenham and he believes the club are heading in the right direction when it comes to persuading him to agree fresh terms.
The England skipper is also eager to overtake Alan Shearer as the Premier League’s leading scorer of all-time and, having moved to within touching distance of the former Newcastle United man, remaining with Spurs instead of joining Bayern would keep the dream alive.
However, a concern for Kane will be the fact he still has not won any silverware at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Bayern have won 10 consecutive Bundesliga titles, so that would be an attraction to the Allianz Arena.
