Joe Hart pinged a ball straight at a reporter while they were live on TV before Celtic's clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Celtic travelled to Poland to take on the Ukrainian champions for their Champions League match.

Ingrid Halstensen was at the covering the game for Norwegian outlet TV 2 Sport at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego.

She was pitchside as players warmed up for the match.

As she was live on TV, she was struck in the back by a ball.

The culprit? None other than Celtic goalkeeper, Joe Hart.

The Englishman sent a 'wayward' long pass that hit the TV 2 reporter while she was live on air.

Fortunately the ball only hit Halstensen in the back and did not knock her over. She took it well, too, turning around briefly and smiling.

The Englishman could be seen holding his hand up in apology.

Was it intentional or not? We'll let you make your own mind up...

Hart played the full 90 minutes as Celtic drew 1-1 with the Ukrainian side.

Celtic took the lead in the 10th minute courtesy of Artem Bondarenko's own-goal.

But they didn't hold the lead for long, with Mykhaylo Mudryk restoring parity 19 minutes later.

There were no further goals as the two sides shared the spoils.

Joe Hart is confronted by reporter

Halstensen interviewed Hart after the match and she just had to bring up that pre-match moment.

Hart apologised and maintained that it was an accident.

"I was begging to say sorry but you didn't turn around. Apologies!" He said.

He added: "My goalkeeper coach was literally five yards [away]... and that's why my career has gone where it's gone!"

What's next for Hart?

Hart has played every minute for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season and will almost certainly start once again in their match against St Mirren on Sunday.

Barring a very unlikely return to the England set up, Hart will then have a few weeks off during the international break.
