MotoGP welcomes back Marc Marquez this weekend at MotorLand Aragon, as the Spaniard once again returns from injury to the premier class.

The Spaniard has missed a decent-sized chunk of this season through injury and subsequent surgery but was back on the bike earlier this month at the Misano test and now is ready to make his full return to competitive riding this weekend at Aragon.

How high he has set his expectations for this weekend remains to be seen but it is clear that he has put the work in to get back to this stage, and the main hope over the course of the coming days is that he'll be fit and healthy and will avoid incident.

Marquez is an exceptional talent that pushes himself and the bike to the very limit, and that has seen him have some huge crashes over the years in the pursuit of that extra tenth.

Indeed, after this latest period out of the sport, many may well have thought it might be wise for the Spaniard to hang up the gloves and call it a day but that is not the animal we have come to know and love with Marquez, and ultimately it's brilliant for the sport to have him back on the grid.

He returns at a time where the championship battle appears to be hotting up, with Pecco Bagnaia in incredible form and eroding Fabio Quartararo's lead every race weekend, whilst Aleix Espargaro is still in the mix even if he has now seen the Ducati man take his P2 in the standings.

Marquez, meanwhile, will wish that he was in the championship fight this year but, whilst he won't win the crown this season, he can still have a big impact on its destination.

MotoGP enters its triple-header with plenty to look forward to, then, and the return of Marquez is top of the bill, with him sharing a video surrounding his latest comeback on social media and Twitter.

He's one of motorsport's biggest names and the Spanish crowd at Aragon will be delighted to have him back in contention.

What can he do this weekend at a track that he has gone well at over and over in the past? Only time will tell - but you'd rule out nothing where the no.93 rider is concerned.
