Former tennis player Rachel Stuhlmann is aspiring to be tennis’ biggest global influencer.
Stuhlmann, who was once a talented junior player, is now the Global Events & Media manager for TopCourt and has an impressive social media following.
Who is Stuhlmann?
Born in St.Louis, Missouri, Stuhlmann was nationally ranked on the USTA’s Junior Circuit and went on to play NCAA Division I collegiate tennis.
In 2019, she went viral after clips of her doing tennis trick shots broke the internet.
Soon, brands were queuing up to work with Stuhlmann and she now has more than 170,000 followers on Instagram.
What is she hoping to achieve?
Stuhlmann stressed that she hopes to achieve the same level of success as Spiranac –– who is one of the most renowned golf influencers.
Spiranac is a former professional golfer, who now has more than 3.5 million Instagram followers and 260,000 YouTube subscribers.
“Paige does her thing with golf and she’s a great person to seek inspiration from, but there’s nothing like it in tennis,” Stuhlmann said.
“And so I just feel like for me, I would love to keep bringing attention to all the different tournaments I want to travel to. My main goals are to make the game more mainstream and relatable. So whatever aligns with that.

“I’ve always said yes to things opportunity-wise and within the game and I just keep creating content around the sport and get people excited about it –– showing them the different life stories around the game and in a positive way.
“That’s what I want to keep doing. I really like what she [Spiranac] does in golf and so that’s what I’m trying to do in tennis. I feel like I’ve been inspired for a while by Paige Spiranac.”
Who are tennis’ biggest influencers?
While Stuhlmann boasts a huge following on social media, she still has some way to go if she is to catch the world’s top tennis stars.
Stuhlmann’s idol Nadal, whom she used to have a poster of on her wall, currently leads the way with more than 16 million followers on Instagram, while the recently retired Serena Williams is just behind, with 15.7m.
British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has 2.5m followers as it stands and US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz is the latest to hit 2m.
