After Oleksandr Uysk’s victory over Anthony Joshua talk turned, almost immediately, to a unification bout with Tyson Fury. Uysk retained his WBA, IBF and WBO belts with his victories while the “Gypsy King” holds the WBC title. The Ukrainian initially said he wanted to face Fury, however, after talking about retirement after his latest defence the WBC champion was keen to get back in the ring and wanted to face Uysk before the turn of the year.Usyk is keen to get a full recovery and spend time with his family after the Joshua fight so had ruled himself out until 2023. Fury has since set up a “Battle of Britain” clash with Joshua, which has captured the imagination of the public and promises to reward both fighters financially. After being criticised by the “Gypsy King” for not wanting to get the unification clash on for November or December of this year, Uysk has broken his silence, suggesting that Fury’s impatience has prevented boxing fans from seeing the event that they want above all others. Usyk breaks his silence over Fury vs Joshua

Michael Benson of talkSPORT has tweeted a quote from Uysk, via an interview with Ring, when asked about the forthcoming 'Battle of Britain'.

"I'm not p***ed off. The bigger problem is Fury is not letting fans see one of the best bouts in boxing history. That's his fault. Not mine. From a sportsmanship standpoint, it's not correct."

Many fans on Twitter do not agree with the Ukrainian’s standpoint. A lot have suggested that he is avoiding Fury and is claiming to be injured.

Others are saying that if he is not prepared to fight until 2023 then Fury has every right to look for other opponents.

Fury’s fans seem to think that the undisputed clash could happen should he take care of Joshua, many stating that he will take on Usyk in March or April to claim all four belts.

However, others have said that Fury should have pushed to fight Usyk sooner, and now should be patient.

A number have suggested that if he hadn’t been talking of retirement, he could have faced Usyk in August instead of Joshua.
