Valorant’s developers, Riot Games, have now confirmed the format for the upcoming Champions Tour in 2023.

The Champions Tour sees some of the very best teams of players compete with each other in an international tournament to see who the cream of the crop is.

Riot have confirmed that this year’s tournament is their biggest ever and it is set to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2023.

It’s a huge deal for Valorant, which has been aiming to mark itself out as one of the most competitive games in the FPS space.

The game is free-to-play and is a competitive 5v5 character-based tactical FPS, so the very best teams really are very good at the game!


Valorant Tournament Details Revealed

Riot Games have confirmed that the 2023 Champions Tour will begin in Brazil and will last for three weeks.

The one-off event will last for a total of three weeks, starting in February and a winner will be crowned in early March. The winning team will gain their league an extra slot at the first international event of the season, Masters.

After that, there will be what is called a “competitive split” that will see weekly LAN competitions take place in three cities.

They will be in Berlin, Seoul, and Los Angeles. Each site will be broadcast in multiple languages so that fans can watch from across the world.

There will be eight weeks of competition, beginning in March, and there will be three league champions crowned in May.

Whalen Rozelle, the COO of Esports at Riot Games, said in a press release: “The VALORANT community’s passion inspired us to dream big and evolve the VALORANT Champions Tour to meet the overwhelming demand we’re seeing in every corner of the world.

“In 2023, we’re taking everything we’ve learned, adding in new ideas and forming partnerships that will help us realize our dreams for the next edition of the VCT.”

Valorant Champions Tour 2022 - Riot Games

The second international tournament of the year, titled Masters, will return in June, as well, and will feature the best teams from each international league.

The event will reward the top teams from each territory with direct qualification to Champions, the Valorant world final.

In July, the top teams who haven’t qualified will be offered the chance to compete in the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Champions takes place in August, and there, teams will battle to become the Valorant Global Champions.
