Vince McMahon could be set to return to WWE for an appearance at WrestleMania 39, a new report has claimed.

Vince retired from WWE as the company's Chairman, CEO and Head of Creative in July, and hasn't appeared on TV since.

McMahon's departure came in the wake of an internal investigation from WWE into allegations of sexual misconduct.

Vince McMahon's retirement from WWE

It's been around six weeks now since Vince left WWE, with Triple H taking over his creative responsibilities, a decision that has been received well by fans.

As for Vince's roles behind the scenes, those have been taken by Stephanie McMahon, who is now WWE's Chairwoman and co-CEO, the latter of which she shares with Nick Khan.

Vince hasn't appeared on WWE TV since his retirement, not even the night that he made his announcement, and many fans are under the impression that he won't ever appear again.

Plans for Vince McMahon to make shock WWE return?

However, if reports are to be believed, there have been talks about McMahon appearing at WrestleMania 39 next year, WWE's biggest show of the year.

The US Sun is reporting that talks within WWE have taken place regarding Vince potentially being allowed to have a "farewell" segment at next year's WrestleMania in Los Angeles, via WrestleTalk.

Vince may not be completely done with the WWE. There are discussions about how to pay tribute to his achievements... an acknowledgement of his contributions remains an active discussion among the creative team. Vince will not wrestle, but having an invitation to Wrestlemania could be a possibility.

The report goes on to say that there have been discussions within WWE about the prospect of McMahon getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next April.

One discussion is whether it is too soon for him to be honoured at the WWE Hall Of Fame event, the night before Wrestlemania. Automatically that honor would mean he would walk on stage in front of LA fans next April

WWE's plans for Vince McMahon

It's worth noting that, as of right now, this is the only report which states that Vince McMahon is being considered to appear on WWE TV anytime soon.

However, Stephanie McMahon has spoken about her father's legacy since his retirement, so it's not out of the realm of possibility to suggest that she'd want to honour him in some way.

As for Vince's involvement beyond a potential Hall of Fame induction at this stage, Triple H clarified at BT Sport during an interview this month that his father-in-law is not involved with WWE in any capacity right now.

Some speculated that Vince may be working for WWE in secret behind the scenes, but Triple H wanted to make it clear during his interview with Ariel Helwani that Vince is completely gone and is no longer with WWE in any way.
