The 2022 FIFA World Cup out in Qatar is now only a few months away.

For the first time in the tournament's modern history, the matches will be contested during the European domestic season.

It will also be the first occasion in which the World Cup is hosted in a country that is part of the Middle East, although the location means it will be an incredibly expensive venture for fans of the 32 teams who have qualified.

We're talking a serious amount of money, particularly for those from nations who're likely to progress quite far in the tournament.

The folks over at The Punters Page have worked out roughly how much the average fan will have to fork out in order to watch their country at the 2022 World Cup, looking at the potential cost of tickets, flights, hotels, food, drink and more.

They've also factored in how likely each nation is to progress to the latter rounds, hence why the Brazil, France, Argentina and England are way ahead of the likes of Australia, Ghana and Japan.

Here are their results, from the cheapest to the most expensive...

Watching your country lift the World Cup trophy would be a priceless moment for any footballer love, but even so, the figures above are absolutely crazy - and certainly not in a good way.

Over £20,000?! Yeah, all we can say is good luck to those hoping to watch their nation triumph at the Qatar edition of the tournament live in the flesh...
