Ronald Araujo is fast becoming one of the best defenders in world football. At the age of just 23, the Uruguayan is a regular in Barcelona's starting XI and it's hard to pinpoint a clear weakness in his game.Araujo is big, strong, lightning-quick, reads the game brilliantly from a defensive standpoint and is capable of playing in more than one position to a very high standard. The former Boston River man is a centre-back by trade, but also excels when deployed as a right-back by manager Xavi Hernandez.Araujo is on the verge of becoming a world-class operator and he's already a hugely popular figure among the Barcelona fanbase. And the adoration from Cules towards Araujo was further increased after the player's gesture during the team's 3-0 win over Elche in La Liga on Saturday. At the very end of the first half, when Barcelona were 2-0 up and cruising against 10 men thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Memphis Depay, Araujo showed just how much he loves the Blaugrana.Barcelona's Ronald AraujoSoccer Football - LaLiga - Cadiz v FC Barcelona - Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, Cadiz, Spain - September 10, 2022 FC Barcelona's Ronald Araujo during the warm up before the match REUTERS/Marcelo Del PozoThe defender had to chase the ball down the touchline and as he was doing so, made sure to avoid running over the Barcelona crest etched into the grass. Now that's what you call respect for your employers...

Fair play, Ronald.

Following the conclusion of the game, Araujo was asked about the gesture and replied: "I respect Barça so much. I will always jump over the emblem out of respect."

Xavi was also questioned about it in his post-match press conference and the Barcelona boss said: "What Araujo did with the emblem is respect. It's a detail from him."

Araujo is certainly not the only player in Spain who's determined to always show respect to their club mid-game in recent times.

Vinicius Junior is another. Last season, the Real Madrid flyer made sure to jump over the club's logo during a comfortable victory over Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The South American boys know what a privilege it is to play for either Barcelona or Real Madrid - and you have to applaud them for that to be honest.

Araujo and Vinicius will lock horns in the first El Clasico of the season on October 16th, which promises to be an absolute corker after the two giants' impressive starts to the 2022/23 campaign.

At this moment in time, it's virtually impossible to pick a clear favourite, as it used to be in the good ol' days of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
