So, when Arsenal beat Brentford on Sunday, Gabriel made sure to get revenge.

"Nice kick about with the boys," Gabriel wrote after he helped keep Toney quiet in the Premier League match.

Savage. Gabriel and Arsenal have never forgotten that tweet that Toney sent just over 13 months ago.

It no doubt gave them extra motivation for their match this weekend.

Arteta used Toney's tweet as motivation

Toney's tweet also got to Mikel Arteta. As shown on All or Nothing, the Spaniard showed it to Arsenal players as motivation ahead of their return game against Brentford last season.

He said: "Before I go, because it's still in my stomach, and I have managed to keep it in my stomach for six months. This is Toney (show's tweet) after the game when we played them at Brentford.

"You know what he did, you know his tweet? 'Nice kickabout with the boys this afternoon'. So, today they play in our house guys, and there is only one team in that pithead. Only team, they don't play, we take the ball, we take the game and we go for it. Let's win this game. Let's go."
