Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is ‘open-minded about the future’ amid the continued speculation surrounding him, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 29-year-old has entered the final two years of his £200,000-per-week contract at Hotspur Way and is set to approach a significant crossroads in his career imminently.

What is the latest news involving Kane?

Kane was close to joining reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in the summer of 2021 before he ultimately stayed put at Tottenham.

However, the England international has once again been linked with a move away from north London in recent weeks, with Bayern Munich said to have already made contact with his brother and agent Charlie Kane.

"The discussions have already begun,” said reliable Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

“He is the number one top target. There was contact between Bayern and Charlie Kane. Harry Kane can really, really imagine joining Bayern."

Only time will tell if Antonio Conte and co. can convince Kane to put pen to paper on fresh terms at Tottenham, but the chance to win silverware with one of Europe’s top teams may be an enticing prospect.

What has Jones said about Kane?

Jones believes that Kane is currently ‘focused on Spurs’ but that there is ‘no harm for his representatives’ to speak to other clubs in order to sound out potential transfers in the near future.

In an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “Kane is open-minded about the future, but first and foremost, he is focused on Spurs.

“It’s certainly not out of the question that he would sign new contract with Spurs, but at the same time, there is no harm for his representatives to be in touch with other clubs like Bayern, in case that time suddenly comes when he needs a transfer.”

How big a loss would Kane be?

Kane has established himself as one of the world’s top strikers in recent years, registering 354 goals and 60 assists in 395 appearances across all competitions.

Throughout his career, the 6 foot 2 ace has claimed three Premier League Golden Boots as well as a World Cup one but is yet to win a major trophy for club or country.

A move to Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga for 10 years in a row, would offer a good chance for Kane to get his hands on some silverware for the first time.

His departure from Tottenham would be a bitter blow for Conte and the capital club, though, and everyone associated with Spurs will surely be hoping to puts pen to paper on fresh terms.
