It was a big win for the Gunners, who provided an emphatic response to any doubters left in the wake of their defeat to Manchester United.
The victory takes them back to the top of the Premier League table, one point clear of Manchester City ahead of the club’s clash with arch-rivals Tottenham that’s set to take place after the international break.
New signing Vieira starred on the day. The Portuguese, who the club signed for £34 million this past summer transfer window, had yet to start a Premier League game under Mikel Arteta.
However, having got his chance the Portuguese wasted no time in seizing the opportunity and after impressing throughout, stole the show in the 49th minute.
We’re of course talking about the stunning strike that he drove past David Raya from 25-yards with his left foot.
Check it out for yourself below.

Pick that one out, keeper!
The goal sealed the deal for the Gunners and simultaneously raised the profile of Vieira 10-fold in the eyes of Arsenal fans, who we’re sure can’t wait to catch him in action again.
So, it’s no surprise that Sky were keen to get the 22-year-old in for a post-match interview after the victory.
Vieira was joined by teammate Martinelli for the occasion.
Vieira and Martinelli’s hilarious interview
“It was a spectacular goal for your first game,” the reporter began.
Vieira chuckled and candidly responded “It was a little lucky.”
But Martinelli was having none of Vieira’s humbleness and quickly butted in.
“No, no, don’t say that!” Martinelli fired back.
“It didn’t look lucky. Your left foot, in off the post. Talk us through it?” Asked the reporter whilst the duo cackled away.
“He’s been practicing that shot every single day, so it’s not luck.” Martinelli responded.
Before Vieira, who we feel may still need to get to grips with the English language slightly given he’s so new to the country, simply said: “I was happy.”

Well, we’re glad you were Vieira, so were the countless Arsenal fans watching in the stadium and on the television.
It’s been a while since the Gunners have had an outstanding Vieira in the squad, but with their new signing, it seems like they might just have exactly that.
And with a few more wondergoals like the kind he bagged on Sunday, it won’t be long before he’s a fan favourite around the Emirates.
