Aaron Rodgers’ offseason activities appear to have made their way into the Green Bay Packers locker room if the team’s celebration was anything to go by.

Aaron Rodgers has been a constant for the Green Bay Packers’ franchise since becoming the team’s starter in 2008 and has provided them with pretty much all that you can ask for a quarterback to give you. Coming into this season he had put up 55,360 passing yards and 449 touchdowns for the team whilst also helping them win a Super Bowl back in 2010 and 4 NFL MVP awards, including the last two.

However, for all that he has given the franchise, there have certainly been some times where things haven’t gone all that swimmingly for him and the Packers in terms of their relationship, and as a result he hasn’t always done things that are ‘conventional’ or ‘by the book’.

One recent example was his confession about how he spent revent offseasons. Speaking in an interview with journalist Peter King during his Football Morning In America column, Rodgers revealed that for three of the past four offseasons, 2019, 2020 and 2022, he has been to Peru to take part in an ayahuasca journey, which he claims has helped him on an emotional level, something that he probably needs after what he has been through.

The Packers needed a big win on Sunday to help them get back on track after losing their first game last week against the Minnesota Vikings, as the record for teams going 0-2 isn’t the greatest when it comes to qualifying for the playoffs.

Luckily they did just that last night as they defeated their historic rivals in the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field, a game that they were in control of from the offset, leading 24-7 at halftime. Part of that lead came from a touchdown that was scored right on the stroke of halftime by Allen Lazard.

Although it wasn’t so much the touchdown that was the centre of attention, it was the celebration afterwards, which saw Lazard and the Pakcers offense pull off something rather strange in the endzone.

It goes to show what kind of influence Rodgers has on the team that they’re willing to break that out when they celebrate a touchdown. Although whether or not the tributes will stop there or if they’ll be tempted to join him in the future, we’ll just have to wait and see.
