1: Understand and follow the META

In every FIFA game, there is always a META. For those who do not know what this is, the META is referring to what the strongest strategies are currently in the pace. An easy example of this is to make sure you have fast centre-backs. As updates come about over the course of FIFA 23, the META can change, so make sure you understand what the current META is and make sure your team is built around it.

2: Play a lot of Division Rivals and Squad Battles

Division Rivals and Squad Battles are two great game modes in Ultimate Team. Rivals is against other players online, whilst Squad Battles is an offline game mode. The reasons you should be playing these two modes a lot is due to the fact that they give out rewards weekly. These rewards can include packs and coins and the rewards increase depending on how well you have performed and what ranking you have. With these rewards, you can easily build a great team quickly.

3: Build a cheap overpowered team immediately

When you start a new FIFA game, you need to make sure you have a decent squad as soon as possible. This squad doesn't have to be full of world beaters, it just has to have players who have some META stats. At the start of FIFA 23, you should be able to make an overpowered starting team for around 30-50k. Don't hoard your coins at the start, make sure you have a good starter squad and then you can start to save for higher rated and special players.

4: Complete Squad Building Challenges

Squad Building Challenges are an easy way to unlock packs, coins or special player cards. You will have to meet the unique requirements for each SBC depending on what the reward is, but they are definitely worth completing throughout the course of the game as it is an easy way to get rid of your club fodder and gain coins or packs to further improve your squad. Good SBC's to complete at the start are 'Let's move forward' and 'Let's keep going'.

5: Try trading Silver cards

Silver trading involves buying Silver cards for cheap and selling them on for profit. This is a longer method to generate coins but if you do it right you can build up a huge investment and have a squad that competes with the best. In order for this to work, you need to look at rare Silver cards from the big leagues - Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga.

You need to find the average coin price for these players (can check this on the transfer market) and then look to snipe these cards for below this price in order to sell on for profit. As mentioned, this does take some time and effort, but if you are looking to play FIFA 23 for the whole year, then it will leave you in a great position after a couple of months.
