MMA analyst Chael Sonnen has explained why he thinks boxing is worried about the success of Jake Paul and Logan Paul.

Over the course of the last few years, the success of both Jake Paul and Logan Paul in the combat sports realm has been there for all to see. In addition to having blockbuster match-ups with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Tyron Woodley, we’ve also seen Jake get into the promoting side of the boxing game with Logan actually transitioning over into pro wrestling.

A lot of folks can’t stand seeing them succeed but as we all know, controversy creates cash, and the brothers won’t be worried one bit about the haters they’ve accumulated since first entering the squared circle.

Nobody really knows how far they can take this or how big their pay-per-view events can become, but one thing is for sure - they’ve made the kind of impact that has left many re-evaluating what it means to be in business with an internet sensation.

Chael Sonnen, who has watched their growth closely, recently spoke about their antics and why the sport of boxing, in particular, is concerned.

“The gig is up with the Paul boys. I mean with Logan, that litmus test was passed the night he got in there with Floyd Mayweather. You don’t play with Floyd, and you don’t play with Anderson.

“I think it was during the pandemic, Jake went from fighting someone who was known for dunking basketballs, from that guy, in a short period of time, to the GOAT. I just think it’s a very honourable thing if a guy is serious, if a guy is sincere.”

“He’s going to fight Anderson Silva - there is a respect, an honour, and he deserves credit for it, man.”

“They’re worried. Boxing truly is very worried that some guy can step in, later in life without having full focus, and do well. You know what, I’m one of those people to a degree. It’s happened in MMA, I’ve seen it a couple of times.”

The biggest test of all

In the next month or so, both Jake Paul and Logan Paul will face the biggest tests of their respective careers.

Logan will be battling Roman Reigns for the WWE universal championship at Crown Jewel, whereas Jake is set to collide with Anderson Silva, a man that many consider to be one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

Buckle up, because things are about to get even wackier.
