We're now around a week away from the release of EA Sports' FIFA 23.

The latest edition of the famous franchise will be available to play on September 27th and to whet the appetite of gamers, the player ratings have been officially released.

All the data is available on the official EA Sports website and after having a prolonged peruse through the list, we've cherry-picked 13 of the scariest-looking cards for the Ultimate Team game mode.

Unsurprisingly, the players we've chosen (who're rated 87 or lower, to make things a tad more interesting) are all lightning-quick, which they simply have to be given how important pace always is on FIFA.

Let's take a look at the cards we think will be both go-to for gamers and responsible for some broken controllers.

Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid) - 87 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Rudiger is now a bona-fide FIFA beast. He's received a huge pace upgrade, one that means he'll gobble up strikers for fun.

Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea) - 87 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Koulibaly's card is very similar to Rudiger's - the man he replaced at Chelsea. Pace, power and defensive nous, the Senegalese defender is going to be much sought-after on FIFA 23.

Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) - 86 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

After an incredible 2021/22 season, Nkunku has deservedly been made one of the best players on FIFA 23. There's not a single weakness to his card in our opinion and it looks like the CAM of dreams.

Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) - 86 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Pace, pace and more pace, with a significant heap of dribbling. Vinicius is going to tear full-backs to shreds on FIFA 23, of that we're 100% certain.

Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) - 85 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Arguably the best full-back on FIFA 23. Hernandez possesses a 70+ rating for all six key metrics and the fact he's French makes him perfect for hybrid squads on Ultimate Team.

Jules Kounde (Barcelona) - 84 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

As luck would have it, you could link Hernandez with Kounde - and what a defence you'd have! The Barcelona man isn't the strongest centre-back, but makes up for that with his winger-esque speed.

Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan) - 84 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Another rapid defender. Good luck on FIFA 23, strikers. Tomori looks like the complete package and if you can pair him with Hernandez, your opponent will be mentally beaten in the loading screen.

Fede Valverde (Real Madrid) - 84 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

As 84 rated midfielders on FIFA go, we can't think of many better than Valverde. A ridiculous pace rating, combined with the fact all six key stats are 74 or greater, makes the Uruguayan a truly fearsome prospect.

Eder Militao (Real Madrid) - 84 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

The fourth and final Real Madrid player - yes, Los Blancos are going to be FIFA 23's most overpowered team. And yes, Militao and Rudiger are going to be a devastatingly good centre-back partnership on Ultimate Team.

Victor Osimhen (Napoli) - 83 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

On FIFA 22, Osimhen's 80 rated card was fairly underwhelming, but that's all changed now. His new eye-catching one ticks virtually every single box - according to our judgement anyway.

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool) - 82 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Nunez has struggled at Liverpool in real-life, however, his FIFA 23 card looks pretty darn terrifying. For a man of his size, that pace rating is top notch and he appears to be a 'budget Erling Haaland' for Ultimate Team players.

Antony (Manchester United) - 82 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Antony will be the go-to right winger for those building a Premier League team - and rightly so. The Brazilian speedster is going to dance past players for fun in the virtual world, isn't he?

Denis Zakaria (Chelsea) - 81 overall

Antonio Rudiger's FIFA 23 card

Don't be fooled by the 81 overall rating, Zakaria will be a monster on FIFA 23. We're getting serious 'cost effective N'Golo Kante' vibes from the Switzerland international and can see him being one of the most popular cards on the game early doors.
