Conor McGregor is one of the main reasons as to why the UFC has gone from strength-to-strength in recent history, with the Irishman a major star in the sport, despite not fighting for over a year.

He’s a former champion of the sport but has since been on a sort of sabbatical following a brutal injury suffered in his last fight in 2021 where he broke his leg in defeat.

That made it three defeats from his last four, with some suggesting McGregor was past his peak and on the decline, although we haven’t seen him yet in the Octagon since those claims.

Conor McGregor’s return

Notorious still doesn’t have a fight lined up in the Octagon, although he has been back in training for a while with a clean bill of health, including getting back into leg kicks, proving his broken bone is way behind him.

Understandably, there’s been a lot of rumours about his next opponent, but as of yet there’s no concrete claims on who he could be fighting.

Some question whether or not he will ever return to the Octagon, with other avenues to go down for the Irishman that will see him financially rewarded, either in film or in boxing exhibitions, so who knows what the future holds for Notorious.

What is Conor McGregor doing?

Despite not having anything lined up in terms of a combat sports return, that doesn’t mean Notorious is taking the easy life, relaxing on a deck chair somewhere.

He regularly shares clips of him across the globe, training. So, although clearly enjoying the freedom of travel, he is still putting the hard work in and showing us his training routines.

Recently, whilst in the Caribbean, he’s been training outside despite the hurricane, showing us all his routine as he continues to bulk up.

Conor McGregor back in the Octagon

As previously mentioned, there are no clear dates or leads on a return for McGregor, however, him bulking up considerably as of late suggests he will be stepping foot back into the Octagon sometime very soon.

It would be a shame for him not to, someone on McGregor's level to go out because of an injury on a string of poor form isn’t the way he deserves to ride off into the sunset, hopefully we get McGregor back on top form and dominating opponents again.
