Tottenham Hotspur will be ‘worried’ that manager Antonio Conte could soon be tempted away with Massimiliano Allegri under pressure at Juventus, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Conte’s contract with Spurs is set to expire at the end of the season and chairman Daniel Levy may be growing concerned that he could lose his manager soon.

What is the latest on Allegri?

The Juventus manager has overseen a dismal start to the season in Turin, with the Italian giants winning just two of their opening seven Serie A games.

They currently sit seventh in the top flight with seven points between themselves and league-leaders Napoli.

Back-to-back defeats have kicked off their Champions League campaign with both Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica getting the better of them.

Allegri is facing a vicious response from supporters and was given a police escort back to his car following their weekend defeat to Monza, with his position seemingly growing more and more untenable.

If he were to be sacked, it would not be a surprise if they were to try and tempt Conte back to Italy.

What has Brown said on the situation?

Brown believes that news of Allegri’s struggles will be well known by Levy at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he may be starting to worry.

When asked about the pressure growing on Allegri, Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Spurs will have seen that news and thought the same thing, that it may be a job that their manager would be interested in.

“Conte, as we know, is very ambitious and very demanding. He ultimately wants to manage the top teams and challenge for the biggest trophies.

“Spurs are probably still a little way away from doing that and you have to wonder whether they have the kind of financial resources that Conte is ever going to be entirely happy with.

“The worry for Spurs when they appointed him was always that one of the genuinely top jobs in world football would come around and that he'd be tempted away.”

What has Conte said on his Tottenham future?

Conte signed a 19-month contract at Hotspur Way when he took over from Nuno Espirito Santo halfway through the 2021-22 campaign, leaving less than a year to run on his deal at present.

Back in May, the Italian hinted that he would hold talks with Levy regarding his future, saying he would find ‘the best solution’ for himself and the club.

But Conte has not stayed long in any of his jobs of late. His most recent roles, with Inter Milan and Chelsea, both lasted just two seasons, so there is no guarantee he will remain with Spurs beyond the summer.
