The first clash between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor wasn’t just the biggest bout in MMA and boxing crossover history, it was one of the biggest ever in terms of the pugilistic endeavour outright.

‘Money’ was able to stop McGregor during the boxing clash, and rather unsurprisingly we may well be seeing a re-up of one of the biggest events in sports history.

The massive potential rematch is nowhere near officially confirmed, but there have been some pretty big claims that we will look at in this article!

Here is everything we know right now about Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor 2, including the potential date, weight and more.

What is the potential date for Mayweather vs McGregor 2?

Mayweather revealed in an interview with MailSport that he plans on facing the ‘Notorious’ UFC legend in 2023.

He said: 'I want to go out there this weekend and have fun [against Mikuru Asakura]. Then I have another exhibition in Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.

“We don't know if it's going to be an exhibition of a real fight. But there's been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.

“I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment. So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don't really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don't really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself.”

What weight will the fight be fought at?

With the bout not even officially sanctioned, we do not currently know exactly what weight limit the contest will be held in.

The first fight saw Mayweather tipping the scales at 149.5 lbs, with McGregor coming in at 153 lbs.

It’s likely that this rematch will be at a similar weight class, but that remains to be seen if and when the fight is made official.

Again, the bout has not actually been officially revealed or sanctioned, meaning that we do not know at this time whether the event will be on PPV.

However, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that a fight of this magnitude, exhibition or not, wouldn’t be available to view live on PPV.

The first bout was made available for fight fans on Sky Sports Box Office, so it will likely be there or a similar service such as BT Sport Box Office or FITE TV.

We will update this page if and when an official PPV provider is confirmed for the rematch in the United Kingdom.
