Leeds winger Luis Sinisterra is "knocking on the door" for a regular place in the starting XI, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a promising opening couple of months in English football, but he's yet to establish himself in Jesse Marsch's team.

What's the latest news involving Sinisterra?

Following an outstanding season with Feyenoord, Leeds paid £21m for his services, making him one of nine new arrivals in the recent window.

Having missed the opening day victory over Wolves, though, Sinisterra was restricted to just 57 minutes in his first three top-flight matches.

But after Marsch's side were beaten at Brighton in late-August, the American manager opted to throw Sinisterra in for his full Premier League debut against Everton.

And the Colombia international, who had registered a goal and assist against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup six days earlier, didn't disappoint, scoring the equaliser to earn his side a point.

Sinisterra kept his place for Leeds' last league game, and while it ended in a 5-2 defeat, the Dutchman once again got himself on the scoresheet.

Therefore, O'Rourke reckons the wide man isn't far away from becoming a regular starting player under Marsch following an encouraging start to his Leeds career.

What did O'Rourke say about Sinisterra?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I don't think there's any mad rush to get him into that starting line-up every week straight away, but he is knocking at the door, and he does look like a talented player.

"For Leeds fans, I think he'll be exciting to watch. He's definitely got a goal in him as well, which is also a good thing for Leeds and Marsch."

Will Sinisterra start against Aston Villa?

When Leeds return to action after the international break, Marsch will surely shuffle his pack from the heavy defeat at Brentford.

But with limited options on the flanks, Sinisterra might just have done enough to earn himself his third Premier League start on the bounce.

After selling Raphinha and loaning out Dan James, Sinisterra and Jack Harrison are Leeds' only recognised wide options, meaning the ex-Feyenoord star should be hopeful of keeping his place.

Brendan Aaronson started the season on the right, but he's fared better when playing centrally, and with Rodrigo currently sidelined through injury, it would appear unlikely that he'll be moved across.
