Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are believed to be close to agreeing to fight each other before the end of the year.

A deal is currently being struck between the two parties after Fury, 34, teased the possibility of a fight.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn recently claimed that he has accepted a 60-40 split of the fight purse in favour of Fury despite admitting he isn't completely happy with the terms of the contract.

But he did also insist that there was no room for negotiation as they were left with no other choice but to accept the offer on the table.

Bob Arum says Eddie Hearn doesn't want Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury

However, during a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, Fury's US promoter, Bob Arum, has apparently decided to call Hearn's bluff.

“We’ve been exchanging documents with Matchroom," Arum said. “We don’t think that Hearn wants to make that fight.

Tyson Fury is currently locked in talks to fight Anthony Joshua

"We really don’t think he wants to make that fight. We’re giving him every opportunity to make that fight. And if we can’t make it very shortly, Fury will fight somebody else.

"We have another opponent lined up.

“I think Hearn knows, like most boxing people know, that all things being equal, that Fury will knock Joshua out, that Joshua’s very suspect now and very tentative. And he’s still a draw card, so why would you wanna cash in on your draw card? So, I don’t think he’s gonna do it.

"I think he’s just f***in’ around with the Warrens. We talk with the Warrens every day because we’re partners [on Fury], but we’re letting them carry the ball.”

Bob Arum hints Tyson Fury's next fight could take place in the UK

The Top Rank chief also revealed that Fury's next fight could take place in the UK.

“Whoever Fury fights will sell out an arena in England," he continued.

“And, you know, even talking to Fury himself, because he’s looking at the long picture, he wants to get exposed. He’s a big attraction in the United States. He is a huge attraction in the UK. And he wants to play on that.

“He’s not gonna wait around for crazy money from Saudi Arabia. I mean, that’s not good for boxing fans. You know, occasionally if you do a fight in Saudi Arabia or Abu Dhabi or Qatar, it’s okay.

"But you don’t just sit around and wait for them to put on a fight. That’s not good. That’s not good for the sport.”

Anthony Joshua set deadline to agree to fight Tyson Fury

Arum's words come after Fury's other co-promoter Frank Warren voiced his frustrations with Hearn and Joshua, in particular the latter, over a failure to cement a fight.

With winter fast approaching, Warren said Joshua has been set a deadline of "the end of this week" to agree to fight Fury - or else.

“First of all what everyone’s got to realise is this is the Tyson Fury show,” Warren told SecondsOut. “Tyson is the number one heavyweight in the world.

“It’s his title on the line. AJ’s ranked about number six at the moment in the WBC and that’s what it is.

“But we’re bending over backwards – I’m sorry, Tyson’s bending over backwards to make it happen. Let’s make it happen. There’s no reason why this fight shouldn’t go on.

“If it doesn’t go on, for any reason, it won’t be from our side. If it doesn’t go on I can’t believe that AJ – after what he’s come out and said that he wants to fight – that it can be down to him. So make it happen.

“This is it. We only have a short window to do this. By the end of this week we need this – it’s either on or it’s not.

“And if it’s not we’ll move on and they’ll do what they got to do. If it doesn’t happen, do not be looking at us. Do not be blaming us.”
