Floyd Mayweather has said that he will fight Conor McGregor again in 2023.

The undefeated boxer, who fought UFC legend McGregor in 2017 in a boxing match, was discussing his future plans ahead of this weekend's exhibition bout with Japanese mixed martial artist and YouTuber Mikuru Asakura.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Mayweather said: "I want to go out there this weekend and have fun. Then I have another exhibition [in] Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.”

This, naturally, has brought a big reaction on social media and a video showing a press conference ahead of their original bout has re-emerged.

Conor McGregor's unreal tirade at Floyd Mayweather press conference

McGregor was at his loudest, brashest and most cutting. The focus of his rant was Mayweather’s dress sense, shouting: “What the f*** is he wearing?"

'Notorious', incredulous over Mayweather’s attire, continued: “He looks like a little break-dancer or something…….a 12-year-old break-dancer b****. He’s 40!”

Then, addressing the undefeated American, the rant continued: “You’re 40 years of age! Dress your f***ing age!”

Then, walking up to Mayweather, McGregor continues, seemingly getting louder and more animated:

“Carrying a school-bag on stage, what are you doing with a school-bag on stage, you can’t even read!”

Then, turning back to the audience he said: “40 years of age carrying a school-bag, then man doesn’t even f***ing read!”

During this the former multiple weight world champion simply sat and sipped his coffee, looking unmoved by the Irishman’s tirade, while some of those around him looked amused by the whole incident.

The first fight featured a number of these press-conferences with the two fighters exchanging barbs.

The first fight between McGregor and Mayweather was a more interesting prospect with “Notorious”, a former boxer who went on to have a fantastic MMA career, going back to his old discipline against the undefeated “Money”, one of the greatest of all time.

Conor McGregor competes admirably in first Floyd Mayweather fight

Mayweather was ahead on the score cards when he won by TKO in the tenth round.

However, McGregor competed well and landed a greater number of punches than Manny Pacquiao or any of Mayweather’s previous nine opponents had managed. It remains to be seen what form a second fight would take but it is unlikely to be as intriguing a prospect as the first was.

Mayweather said in the Daily Mail:

"We don't know if it's going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there's been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition……I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment.”

The build-up is bound to be fun though.
