Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is not ‘about to walk away’ from his current role at the club, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Conte endured a slightly turbulent start to his Tottenham reign but managed to guide them back into the Champions League last term before building on that in the opening weeks of the current campaign.

What is the latest news involving Conte?

Despite only replacing former boss Nuno Espirito Santo in November, Conte’s position in the Spurs dugout came under scrutiny in February following a run of four defeats in five games.

“I have to talk to the club,” said the Italian tactician after a surprise loss to Burnley. “I am too honest to close my eyes and continue in this way, and also take my salary.

“I want to take my responsibility. I am open for every decision because I want to help Tottenham. Four defeats in the last five games, this is the first time in my life this type of situation has happened. This is unacceptable.”

However, the north London outfit’s form improved dramatically soon after, allowing them to pip local rivals Arsenal to a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League standings.

But Conte’s future has once again come under scrutiny after SportItalia correspondent Tancredi Palmeri claimed that Juventus have made contact with their former chief due to the struggles of Massimiliano Allegri.

What has Brown said about Conte?

Conte was backed to the tune of around £150 million in the previous transfer window by the Tottenham hierarchy, and he has repaid their faith with some promising performances on the pitch.

The capital club are currently unbeaten in the top-flight and just one point behind table-toppers Arsenal, and Brown doesn’t believe they are in any ‘imminent danger’ of losing their manager.

In an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “I think it's probably in the back of his mind, and in the back of the minds of people at Spurs, but I don't think there's any imminent danger that he's about to walk away.”

Will Conte stay at Tottenham?

Only time will tell if Conte refutes Juve’s advances in order to remain at Tottenham, yet his current position appears to be a far more attractive proposition than the one in Turin from the outside.

Spurs are competing at the top of the Premier League table and have just made several exciting acquisitions, allowing the 53-year-old to shape his first-team in his image.

Juventus, on the other hand, are lingering down in eighth position in Serie A having won just two of their opening seven league games.

The Old Lady are also struggling financially, and a return to the side he claimed three Serie A titles with would perhaps be a less attractive proposition than staying put at Tottenham.
