West Ham will see 'the best' of £86.5m duo at London Stadium

West Ham United boss David Moyes applauding

West Ham duo Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca need time to settle in England, says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The two summer signings have failed to make much of an impact in the Premier League so far, but Sheth is tipping them to both come good once they have fully adapted to their new surroundings.

How are things going for Paqueta and Scamacca at the London Stadium?

David Moyes will be demanding a lot from Paqueta, with West Ham paying Lyon £51m for his services last month.

The Brazilian is yet to score or assist for his new club, though he has only started three Premier League games and has not always played in his preferred attacking midfield position.

Scamacca, likewise, has been unable to register in the English top flight, but the Italian has found the back of the net a few times in the Europa Conference League.

The former Sassuolo man was not cheap either, costing the Hammers £35.5m.

What has Sheth said about Paqueta, Scamacca and West Ham?

Sheth has called for patience, telling GIVEMESPORT that Paqueta and Scamacca need to be given time at the London Stadium.

Speaking to GMS, the Sky Sports reporter said: “With regard to someone like Paqueta and with regard to Scamacca, they’ve come from a different league remember. It’s all well and good saying, ‘They’re playing in the wrong position. If you play them in this certain position, then everything is going to be fine.’

“It’s not going to be as easy as that. They’re coming to a new country, a new league, a new challenge. There are a lot of other things that they need to get used to, as well as what happens on the pitch on a Saturday, and I think once everything else settles around them, I think you’ll be able to see the best of these players.”

Will Paqueta and Scamacca eventually deliver for West Ham?

Paqueta and Scamacca have not been in England for long, so it would not be fair to write them off.

What year was the London Stadium built?

Both players can bring a lot to Moyes’ side. As per FBref, Paqueta has ranked in the 84th percentile for dribbles completed, the 94th for pressures and the 97th for tackles among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year, so the Brazil international is an attacking threat who will work hard for West Ham.

As for Scamacca, the Italian striker scored 16 times in 36 Serie A outings last season, so he should eventually add some more goals to the Hammers’ side.
