McGregor today posted a training video on his Twitter feed, where he is seen delivering a turning side kick to the face followed by a jumping knee to his opponent’s chest.

This, naturally has got fans talking. Many are enthused by the prospect of him returning to the Octagon, however some have looked a little deeper, suggesting that it is a pre-2015 video, given the lack of tattoos.

Conor McGregor's training partner gives progress update

Training partner Darragh Kelly described McGregor as looking "sharp" in his return to training. There have obviously been concerns about McGregor's injury, but Kelly, speaking to the Daily Mirror, believes that he looked as good as ever on the mats, and suggests he will return at welterweight.

When talking about McGregor’s return to his home gym in Dublin, Kelly told Mirror Fighting: "When Conor comes back the energy in the place is unreal.

"All the grown men turn into kids……staring and looking for photos, so it's great because obviously that's why half the people are in SBG probably because of Conor so it's great seeing him about. I watched him roll and he looked sharp.

"He looks really good; he looks fairly big so I'm not too sure and I wouldn't know but he looks like a welterweight anyway."
