Seth Rollins might be the current best in-ring performer on the WWE roster, and has remained fresh and relevant as a main eventer since his main roster debut in 2012.

In his 10 years on the main roster, Rollins has won every single title on offer, as well as the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank, even headlining WrestleMania.

Despite all of this, there are probably some things about "The Visionary" that fans are unaware of, so GiveMeSport takes you through ten things you didn't know about Seth Rollins.

He started wrestling at an early age

While he began training to become a pro wrestler at the age of 17, the real-life Colby Lopez began competing in backyard shows at the age of just 14 in Iowa. It was here that he began to develop his high-flying style.

His first ring name was inspired by his brother

Most people will know that Rollins wrestled as Tyler Black on the independent scene but it was not his first ring name.

He initially went by the name Gixx, which was the name of a character in the trading card game, Magic the Gathering, which his brother played.

He was turned down by TNA

As Tyler Black and just 20 years old, he appeared on an October 2006 episode of Impact in a tag match with his partner Jeff Luxon in a losing effort against The Latin American Xchange.

The upper brass of TNA did not see much in Black and he instead wrestled for Ring of Honor.

He is one of just four men to win the Ring of Honor and WWE titles

Rollins had enormous success as Tyler Black in Ring of Honor, winning the World Title in January 2010. His WWE title win at WrestleMania 31 meant he followed CM Punk and Daniel Bryan in winning both belts.

They have recently been joined by Chris Jericho, who took the opposite route to Rollins, Punk and Bryan.

The origin of the Seth Rollins ring name

When Rollins signed for WWE Developmental, he was tasked with picking a new ring name such is/was WWE tradition.

Inspiration came from the lead singer of one of his favourite bands, Black Flag, Henry Rollins.

He is the only man to win three of WWE’s biggest titles

Rollins was the very first NXT Champion in August 2012. He later won both the WWE and Universal titles. Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, Big E and Kevin Owens have won two of these three, but Rollins is the only man to win all three. Quite the achievement.

His WWE title win at WrestleMania win had a number of firsts

Rollins Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania 31 is one of the most iconic Mania moments. It was the first time the contract had been used at WrestleMania and during a match.

It also marked the first time a wrestler younger than WrestleMania had won the main event, as Rollins was 29 at the time.

He has won six WWE Tag Titles with 5 different partners

Rollins has accumulated 14 titles during his WWE career, including six tag titles with five different partners. He first won the WWE Tag Team Championships with one Shield teammate Roman Reigns, before two Raw Title reigns with the other, Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley.

His three other Raw titles came with Braun Strowman, Jason Jordan and Buddy Murphy/Matthews respectively.

He and CM Punk have never had a singles match but tagged together once

In something of a shock, Rollins and Punk never met one-on-one in the ring with Rollins’ Ring of Honor run coming after Punk left for WWE, and their encounters in the 18 months together on the WWE main roster being in tag matches.

The two however did join forces as NXT (Rollins) and WWE (Punk) Champions in a NXT dark match against Cesaro and Kassius Ohno.

He owns two businesses away from WWE

In 2013, he opened The Black and The Brave Wrestling Academy in Illinois with long-time friend and former pro wrestler Marek Brave, the name being a combination of their Ring of Honor ring names.

Rollins has since opened two coffee shops under the 392 Caffe name in Davenport (his hometown) and Clinton, both in Iowa.
