Karate Combat will return to Orlando's Universal Studios on October 29.

Lyoto Machida's protege Bruno Souza and former champion Edgars Skrivers will headline the event as they look to push towards a potential lightweight title fight against Luiz Rocha.

Rocha recently became the first 'superchamp' in Karate Combat history after beating Josh Quayhagen last time out.

It will be the third time the world's first full-contact karate league has taken place at the resort - with the highlight being Ross Levine's victory over Shahin Atamov in June.

Souza, 26, beat Maciej Tercjak on his debut and was on the undercard when Rocha fought Quayhagen in the main event in August earlier this year.

The former UFC fighter said: “This is a fight I asked for.

"He is the former champion and one of the best in the division.

"I know I need to beat him to get to the title.

"Skrivers has been on my radar since before I signed with Karate Combat.

"I've always seen him in action, he's a different kind of guy.

"He has five fights in the organization and only lost one, to Luiz.

"So I'm sure I'll be the second person to smoke him.”

Fellow lightweight contender Skrivers added: "I think it’s a good match - Machida Karate vs Skrivers Karate.

"But he’s nothing new for me, he’s a high level guy but Karate Combat has all high-level guys, so the fact he has competed in the UFC and elsewhere means nothing to me.

"I can’t look past him - he’s a tough competitor, a tough karate guy - but I want my belt back and he’s in the way.

"So I have to beat him and then I think that puts me right back in title contention."
