Oleksandr Usyk has recently given a scathing attack on his former competitor Anthony Joshua, labelling the British heavyweight a ‘poor fool’ and likening him to a ‘little boy’.

AJ was the target of much criticism following not only his poor performance against Usyk in August, but also for his post-fight antics that even saw him throw two of Usyk’s belts out of the ring.

Following the split decision in favour of Usyk, Joshua started to behave like we had never seen before, with the former Olympic gold medalist seen to be starting heated arguments with Usyk’s team, throwing the Ukrainian’s belts out of the ring, and even storming back to his dressing room in rage.

However, the 32-year-old then turned back around and returned to the ring to give a rather hasty and bizarre speech that left fans extremely confused.

While media outlets and social media had a lot to say about Joshua’s controversial behaviour, Usyk refrained from commenting on the post-fight antics in the initial aftermath, as he celebrated his retained WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.

However, that silence has been broken, as Usyk has recently revealed what he thinks of Joshua’s behaviour on his USYK17 YouTube channel, and the former undisputed cruiserweight world champion does not hold back!

Directly addressing the post-fight antics, Usyk claimed that he thought, “What a poor fool” of Anthony Joshua, before continuing to explain that:

“I thought, ‘Why should you be doing that?’ He reminded me of a little boy who wanted to play with the ball, but it was taken away from him. So, he decided to throw it over the neighbour’s fence. But the ball landed next to a fierce dog, so was it such a smart decision in the end?”

‘Little boy’ is not a good look for the 6 foot 6 and 115kg Joshua, who was once seen as the future of British heavyweight boxing before his recent runs of losses to Andy Ruiz Jr. and Oleksandr Usyk.

The two-time former unified world heavyweight champion is looking to get his career back on track and restore some respect to his name via the biggest fight possible after reportedly arranging with Tyson Fury for a British blockbuster to take place in December between the two rivals.

The heavily anticipated fight, if it gets over the line, would be one of the biggest matches in British boxing history and a win for Joshua would catapult him right back to the top of the boxing world.

However, following his title defence against Joshua, Usyk believes that he should be priority to face the technically recently retired, yet current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, in an attempt to unify the heavyweight belts.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has claimed that ‘The Gypsy King’ fancies the challenge against the undefeated Ukrainian, and hinted at a March 2023 date for the unification bout, just a few months after a fight with Joshua on December 3.

So, should all negotiations go smoothly, there are some very exciting few months of heavyweight boxing ahead of us, with legendary fights that will almost definitely go down in history, whatever the result.
