The Netherlands national football team are one of Europe's giants and a regular feature in the FIFA World Cup.

Over the years, the Netherlands has had some of the biggest names in world football in their ranks, creating unforgettable international moments.

Dennis Bergkamp - 37 goals - 0.47 goals per 90 minutes

Bergkamp is one of the most skilful and influential players of all time, taking the Eredivisie by storm in one of the greatest Ajax sides and being a crucial part of Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

Bergkamp's first international goal came in a European Qualifier match where his strike helped the Netherlands to a 2-0 victory over Greece.

During his international career, Bergkamp played in four major tournaments, scoring in all four.

Bergkamp's final international goal came in an international friendly against Brazil, where the game finished 2-2. In total, he netted 37 times for Oranje.

Patrick Kluivert - 40 goals - 0.51 goals per 90 minutes

Kluivert is known for his time at FC Barcelona and Ajax, where he won numerous trophies. He is another iconic striker who had an impact on the international stage in various tournaments.

Kluivert's best major tournament performance came in Euro 2000, where he walked away with the golden boot after scoring five goals.

Kluivert's first goal in a major tournament came in the 1996 Euros, where he grabbed a consolation strike in a 4-1 loss to England.

He would carry his goalscoring form into the 1998 World Cup, netting in Holland's 2-1 quarter-final win against Argentina, as well as an equaliser against Brazil in the semi-finals to take the game to extra time.

Memphis Depay - 42 goals - 0.52 goals per 90 minutes

Depay has featured for the Netherlands ever since 2013, being a part of the squad for the best part of a decade.

Depay's first goal for Holland came in a 3-2 win against Australia in Group B of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He grabbed another goal in the tournament to take the Netherlands to the knockout stages as they defeated Chile 2-0.

Depay's goalscoring form continued in major tournaments, scoring multiple times in the Nations League and Euro 2020. However, his international stats reveal his greatest impact came in the qualifying stages, as he has 15 goals in 15 European Qualifier matches.

Depay continues to be an integral part of the Dutch national team and will most likely feature in the upcoming winter World Cup in Qatar.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar - 42 goals - 0.55 goals per 90 minutes

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was a target man who dominated defences with his strength and ability on the ball.

Over the course of his career, he won numerous trophies, including three Eredivisie titles and three Dutch Cups.

Huntelaar also finished Bundesliga top scorer with 29 league goals for FC Schalke in the 2011/12 campaign.

The target man's first international goal in a major tournament happened during a Group C match in Euro 2008, where he netted the opener in a 2-0 win against Romania.

Huntelaar went on to score in two further major tournaments, the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, but he was most effective was in Qualifiers, as he scored 18 goals in 20 European Qualifier matches.

Huntelaar's final international goal came in a European Qualifier in 2015, when the Netherlands played the Czech Republic.

Robin Van Persie - 50 goals - 0.49 goals per 90 minutes

Van Persie was one of the most prolific goalscorers in world football, becoming an established name in the Premier League at Arsenal and Manchester United.

The forward's eye for goal saw him win two consecutive Premier League golden boot awards.

He was just as clinical on the international stage as he scored 50 goals in 102 caps.

His first major tournament goal would come in the following World Cup in 2006, where he grabbed a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast in Group C.

Van Persie continued to get his name on the scoresheet over the next two major tournaments and was part of the Netherlands side that finished runners-up in the 2010 World Cup.

However, his best individual performance came in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The highlight of his national career came in this tournament when the Netherlands played Spain on matchday 1 in Group B, pulling off a shocking 5-1 win against the reigning champions.

The former Netherlands captain's final international goal came in 2015 in a World Cup Qualifier against the Czech Republic.
