The Rock is set to return to WWE next year for a showdown with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, at least if reports are to be believed.

Reports from the Wrestling Observer, which date back to 2021, have claimed that the plan for April 2023's show is to feature a match between The Rock and his real-life cousin.

Vince McMahon came up with the idea during his time running WWE, but it seems like new Head of Creative Triple H was a big fan and still intends on booking the match himself.

Ricochet's wild prediction for The Rock v Roman Reigns

Reports from WrestleVotes have indicated that Roman Reigns will at least be holding one of either the WWE Championship or Universal Championship by the time the show rolls around next year.

Reigns is currently the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, but as you can see from the report below, it seems like there has been talk of separating the titles pretty soon, giving Roman just one.

Regardless of which titles he goes into the show with, many fans are expecting Roman to beat The Rock at WrestleMania, if the match happens.

However, while speaking to NBC Sports recently, SmackDown star Ricochet has predicted that The Rock is going to beat the WWE megastar, via Ringside News.

The Rock is just the best in the world. Who else is it gonna be, you know what I mean? I mean, Roman is on a freaking roll right now, I’d like to get my hands on him too. Roman is Roman but I’m never gonna say nobody will beat me. But, The Rock is just, I don’t even know what to say. What can you say? He can do anything he wants to do.

What are WWE's plans for Ricochet?

Ricochet has been undefeated on WWE TV since Triple H came to power as the Head of Creative following Vince McMahon's retirement.

While Ricochet may not have been given a juicy story to sink his teeth into, the new WWE leadership team clearly sees something in him, giving the former NXT star several big wins.

Over the last two months, Ricochet has beaten the likes of Happy Corbin and Sami Zayn in singles matches.

He has suffered a loss though, although it wasn't on the main roster, as the 33-year-old returned to NXT for a match with North American Champion Carmelo Hayes as World's Collide on September 4.
