Aston Martin's technical director Dan Fallows has given his reflections and thoughts on his opening few months with the team.
The Silverstone-based outfit are hugely ambitious and are hoping that the years ahead are going to see them climbing the field and challenging for race victories and, ultimately, championships in time.
There has been a lot of investment into the team, from a new factory being in the process of getting built to a serious recruitment drive of some of the brightest and best minds in F1, whilst the capture of Fernando Alonso for next season also speaks volumes.
Fallows is enjoying himself so far as well, having spent time most recently playing a part in plenty of Red Bull's success in years gone by, and that is something he wants to try and bring to Aston.

Speaking in their 'Undercut' feature on their official website, Fallows explained the motivation for joining the project at the team:
"I wanted a new challenge. The most rewarding times in my career have been when I'm presented with a challenge, and I've gone on to overcome that challenge.
"It's not just the challenge, though, it's the opportunity to be part of something that goes from being something modest to something spectacular. There's serious ambition at Aston Martin F1 – from Lawrence Stroll at the very top, right the way through the entire team."
Indeed, it's clear that there is a lot of resource at Aston and more being pumped in in their quest for glory, and Fallows is loving the freedom he has got to try and mould and shape a successful team:
"To be asked to join the team on its journey, but also given the resources that I have, is incredibly exciting. It's incredibly exciting when someone puts that level of faith in you, when they're essentially saying, 'Here's a Formula One team, turn it into what you want, get the people you want, run it how you want, make it successful – make your mark.'

"I took on this challenge because I felt that things could be done differently. It's not about doing things the Red Bull way, or the Mercedes way, or the Ferrari way. It's about coming up with a better way – the Aston Martin way.
"If you stay in the same place and you're successful, you're going to carry on doing the same thing – and that becomes kind of boring."
Success and winning does not happen overnight in F1 but the building blocks to achieve that appear to be being put in place at Aston and the excitement from Fallows, and other members of the team, is palpable.
