Inspiring a new generation

When England won the Euro 2022 title this summer, thousands of young girls all across the country saw their heroes achieve their dreams.

The growth in women's football has not just benefited the current players, but those looking to get involved in football are also more inspired and eager than ever.

During Euro 2022, Arsenal legend Ian Wright called for more schools to introduce regular football sessions for girls during PE.

He delivered an inspiring speech after the Lionesses beat Sweden in the semi-final.

"Whatever happens in the final, if girls are not allowed to play football just like the boys can in their PE after this tournament, then what are we doing?

"We’ve got to make sure they are able to play and get the opportunity because this is going to inspire a lot of people.

"If there’s no legacy to all this, then what are we doing? This is as proud as I’ve ever felt of any England side. This is what it’s about."
