Mark Goldbridge's YouTube All Stars team were on the receiving end of an 8-7 defeat at the hands of Sidemen FC on Saturday afternoon. In a charity match at Charlton Athletic's home ground, which raised over £1 million, goals were certainly not at a premium. There were seven in total during the first half of proceedings, including an absolute corker from Chunkz as Goldbridge's side went in at the half-time break with a 4-3 advantage. After the interval, Sidemen quickly levelled the scores at 4-4, before social media sensation Castro restored the All Stars' advantage. The celebration from the Mexican streamer was quite special, as he paid tribute to his mother who recently beat cancer.

And the goal itself was actually a work of art.

You don't expect to use the phrase 'champagne football' when talking about a charity match featuring people who've never played the game professionally, but it's only way to describe it.

It was a superbly-executed routine from back to front. Cal The Dragon rolled the ball out to kickstart the move and from there, 'Total Football' came to life.

The passing was crisp and incisive, while the left-footed finish from Castro after he was found by a perfectly-weighted through ball was worthy of any top-level striker.

Not bad, eh?

As a result of the sweeping move and other snippets of quality from the All Stars, Goldbridge received quite a bit of praise for his managerial nous on Twitter - of which some was, of course, a little tongue-in-cheek.

Fan reaction to 'Goldbridge ball'

It's a shame Goldbridge and his players weren't able to secure victory in the end, with a late wonder-goal from Miniminter earning Sidemen the thrilling 8-7 win at The Valley.

Who is Mark Goldbridge?

Goldbridge is a YouTuber who's achieved online fame through his reactions to Manchester United and himself playing FIFA.

He's a regular on 'The United Stand', which he launched in 2014 and also has a separate YouTube channel called 'Mark Goldbridge That’s Football'.

The 43-year-old's real name is Brent Di Cesare. The Goldbridge alias was created due to the fact he used to work as a police officer investigating financial fraud.

“When I started on YouTube my job would not have allowed me to use my real name,” he said, per The Sun. This makes sense as Goldbridge was formerly a police officer, holding the position when starting out on YouTube, the alias providing him protection and privacy when carrying out his police duties.

"If you search the name Goldbridge I don’t think there’s anyone in the world with that name.”

According to LadBible, Goldbridge's estimated net worth stands at around $1.5 million.
